I'm not fucking looking for a male Ralts specifically so I can evolve it later on to Gallade. There should be a mechanic that allows you to change the gender of your Pokemon to make it easier.

That happened. 25% of female Azurill would become FtM after evolving into Marill. Fortunately Game Freak fixed that in Gen 6.

Everything went downhill once they decided you could just change IV through Hyper """"Training"""". Now you can change the nature effects, soon you'll be able to change gender as well. All in order to appeal to a bunch of retards that want to play pokemon competitively(that's why hyper training is only available at level 100)
