Every pokemon game I've ever played got me to use 5 pokemon + a low level HM Fly slave.
I don't like any flying pokemon wtf.
I liked Farfetch'd but its stats are horrible, even for single player.

you're just a pussy. i've used farfetch'd in many different single player runs before and it does just fine, especially with it's stick giving it higher chances of critical hits. try playing the game and use the monsters you like, instead of using walkthroughs/guides for this easy, customizable game for kids.

I never use any guides besides "when does this pokemon evolve" and "should I evolve it now or is it gonna learn some dank ass move soon"
I just put Farfetch'd in my party and almost never switch to it, especially when it turns out underleveled.
Flying mons just aren't amazing. I always just end up using fire or psychic to take an enemy down instead

you seem new to the game and this website. my advice is to play around with the mechanics of the game more. the single player games are more fun and challenging when you open yourself up to using mons that do not have "good stats. also lurk more and post less.
