have you ever tried to use a pokemon but just couldn't make it work no matter how hard you tried? Serperior and picrel are both that for me

I used a zebstrika in unova and I had no issues
I used the same pokemon in usum and it died to everything, it's a liability, yet I don't want to get rid of it
I tried using umbreon too, it feels weak, it can take hits but that's it, it's because I gave it a bad moveset

Reminder that even though Farfetch’d’s entire gimmick is being weak, Delibird’s BST is 47 points lower than Farfetch’d, has a redundant Hidden Ability, and a worthless signature move.

I have tried on multiple occasions to use a Sunkern but literally a sneeze will oneshot it. Sunflora looks cool too, which is a shame.

Shuckle also for different reasons: nibbling my opponent to death takes too long.

When playing Crystal years ago I wanted some ice type in my team, and I didn't pick any flying type for my final team. Took me 20 levels to realize Delibird sucked
Also Ninjask in Emerald. Really loved the design, stats were pretty good but he's got no fucking moves, especially since bug type got good move pool only after gen 4

Can't imagine how. Psychic is god tier typing in Kanto even if it's gen 3. The sheer amount of poison types is staggering and specifically resisting other psychic types is huge. STAB Psychic is still really good even with Hypno's average special attack. Its physical attack is also good enough to use moves like Headbutt. It is a very good counter to Sabrina and the rival's Alakazam, especially when you use moves like Thunder Wave and (in gen 3 specifically) Shadow Ball.
