Marketing doesn't always reflect the actual experience of playing the game, nor how good a game is. It's good to get an initial impression (that's the purpose of trailers) but you never truly know until the game is out.

I'm more hyped than ever, it's building a lot off of the world structure of captains and totem pokemon from SM and making open world Pokemon more akin to that structure than the pre gen 7 one in open world. And that's a very good thing.
