You all assume the constant for Onix is it being Rock type, but it only keeps Ground when it evolves into Steelix, like how Scizor and Kleavor keep Bug from Scyther but replace Flying with Steel/Rock. Now I could definitely see it staying Rock type, but I feel like it keeping Ground would be more consistent, with that said my only idea would be an Ice/Ground Crystal Onix/Steelix counterpart, we've seen normal Onix in the trailers so it's not getting a different form, but I think this is still pretty plausible, especially as a late game encounter once you reach the colder snowy areas

Not only have we seen others in the trailers, but trade evolutions have been implied(and later stated and later shown) to happen in the wild since the very beggining of the franchise.

People would complain about it having two double-weaknesses especially if it's slow. Haven't you SEEN the complaints regarding Pokémon like Aurorus, Frosmoth, Colossal, and Camerupt, and Magcargo?

A slow Pokémon should NEVER have two double-weaknesses. Don't give me any of that Aurora Veil/Solid Rock/Focus Sash/Protect/damage-reducing berry shit either.
