>>48329042I actually love pokemon’s nonsense technology and am totally ok with shit like the roto-box letting you access the PC anywhere. The problem is the cognitive dissonance between “this is an ancient world, everybody wears robes and carries wooden pokeballs, there is no technology or society, we’re the first explorers writing our discoveries down on paper notebooks!” and “ok here’s your arc-S 13 phone”. I’m sure it is explained as part of a weird spacetime plot, and I’ll probably grow to appreciate it, but right now I’m salty because it broke what immersion I had in the worldbuilding.
