The fact of the matter is that what you consider to be morally incorrect is wrong. You are basing your opinions on the inertia of an absolutely fucked society. Most people don't develop past stage 4 on the Kohlberg scale. Actually reasoning about which morals are useful given the goal of having a prosperous and stable society starts at stage 5. Ideally our leaders would be doing the reasoning, but humans have proven themselves poor selectors of good leaders as well.

>>48355448This is ridiculously common actually. Many of the furfags and zoos I know are engineers, scientists, and doctors. Software developers, physicians, PhD chemists, statisticians, aerospace engineers, roboticists, and wildlife researchers. The rate of STEM professionals is very obviously way higher than the normalfag population. If I was taking a stab at the number, I'd put it around 20%.
I hear that this phenomena is apparent among BDSM as well. I don't think the link is causal, that so called "degenerate" behavior indicates intelligence. What I think, is that highly intelligent people are smart enough to see the morals prescribed by society to largely be bullshit, so they go and do the things dumb people would be ashamed to. And then it turns out the sky doesn't fall.
Mr. Hands endangered only himself, and was chasing the kind of experience you get with extreme sports. He knew it was dangerous and did it anyway. Washington state had nothing to charge the others involved with because the horse wasn't harmed, so they knee jerked and made a law up because muh feelings of justice. No analysis. No reasoning.
