Gen 4 had Garchomp along with things like Close Combat and Focus Blast, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as shit they added in Gen 5 like the mole and thorn of healthy meta.

That's because gen 2-4 didn't have a linear power scaling. The mechanics changes heavily altered how every single previous Pokemon worked. A Pokemon who was OP in gen 2 might be fucked due to getting a shit ability in gen 3. Or fucked by the physical-special split. The inverse is also true.

Gen 5 is when that stopped happening for the most part. New mechanics would sometimes make an old Pokemon better, but it was much rarer.

Gen 3 was the last time the game felt "balanced" with plenty of old Pokemon and new Pokemon being viable. I would like to see a meta with only the Gen 3 dex that includes current mechanics like the physical/special split and hidden abilities.

Move creep is good because it's a buff to all sweepers. Stat creep is cancer because it means you now have 5 sweepers at your disposal, since the creep affects both offensive mons and stall mons, rendering old sweepers useless.

You're right about Regional Forms and their related Pokemon though, there's no way they won't incentivize you to send your Hisuian Forms over to BDSP once you're done in PLA so you can play with them the traditional way and find out what their "special abilities, once lost to time" are.

Nobody knows for sure. I doubt they'll be "adding" anything. Any Gen 5+ mons in the game will be postgame only just like the other remakes. That's if they are included in the game at all, or if they'll go the LGPE route and limit the dex to how it was in the original games.
