Now that Johto month is coming to a close, what is your opinion on Johto? Have your opinions changed at all during the course of the month? Also Johto Soul thread, I guess.

I think exactly whatI thought at the start of the month. Both GSC and HGSS are heavily flawed and outdated, but the Johto region itself has potential if those flaws are fixed. I've played some hacks that bring the game into a gen 3-5 gameplay style and had a ton of fun.

Kill yourself. Johto's biggest strength is that it DOESN'T play like Gen 3+.

Indeed. I went in having never fully completed a game AFTER Gen 2. I didn't like Crystal as a kid, and I never cared much for the region since. Upon playing Gen 2 again this month though it definitely became one of my favorite regions

Finished up Gold on the 3DS VC recently, beating Red, catching all the legends, whole 9 yards, and then migrated all my pokes over to Home.

Still an amazing game after all these years. I kind of feel bad migrating them because now it seems like some of them won't see combat again, my Feraligatr among them.
