Functionally speaking, I find these mons more like Pikachu than the boring Pika clones.

Mostly due to the fact they can actually evolve and are useful throughout their respective games. i can't think of a Pika clone I'd bother using except for Marill and that's debatable if Marill is even a Pika clone.
