Unless there are loading screens between areas then they're not segmented. Areas being separated by borders on a map doesn't mean the game itself is segmented. BotW's Hyrule is broken up into regions but the game itself is still open world.

Yes, five areas and a town. Each zone had a large landmark, being the Tree, Unown Ruins, Proto Volcano, Frozen tree and top of mountain

The tunnel warps you back to town. The map you're looking at on OP is the full Obsidian area which lines up with the art map and the in game one. The game has big areas but it isn't a seamless world ala BotW, but it never claimed to be either.

I'm 99 percent sure that's just an Icon for a cave. And that "map select" is literally just the map, it's not a select of any kind you can just look at all the different areas from the map.

It lines up perfectly with the town and is a canting not a cave. Also right outside is a camp which serves as introduction to the mechanic when you first enter the area.

Why are poketards like this? The very first Pokemon game was open world yet a majority of the "fans" don't even know what the fuck the word means unless some YouTuber conflates it with sandbox-style map design.

This. I can run a through CT right now from the start to the giant tree and not experience a single load screen. It wouldn’t make sense for Legends to not be seamless as well especially when there’s flight involved.
