Of course pokemon dont need to be 100% realistic, fuck that, but they should be visually appealing in some way.
These axes just arent. They have no ground to stand on. They look like they where stapled on the pokemon instead of being natural, something that Scyther achieves with his blades.
Why Scyther succeeds and this mon fails?
because Scyther reminds you of the praying mantis, something that exists in the real world, and thus feels natural. It didnt need to a praying mantis 1:1 just enough to not be an abomination.
Where as this mon doesnt care about feeling natural or to integrate its axes in a way that feels natural, it simple has them for no reason.
The idea for this design isnt what wrong, its the execution.
