The starter gender ratios are a dumb mechanic though. There's no reason they shouldn't just be 50/50 like most other Pokemon, having every starter be 7/8ths male just for tradition's sake is silly.

People who get upset over a masculine or feminine design having the "wrong" gender are spergs though, for as long as genders have been a thing there've been e.g. female Machamps and male Clefables. They're fucking Pokemon, not people. Do you retards also think that e.g. all butterflies must be female just because they look girly to human standards?

Does anyone say this? People just default to female for cutemons because they're cute. Also like the other anon said, gender ratios for starters is fucking stupid, since it only exists so people don't mass breed starters early on, which the solution is a simple as keeping the day care center unavailable mid to late game. I'd say people going "hurrr 12% female" are more obnoxious.
