Honestly, I'm kind of glad it didn't work out like Lucario, though, as I feel like it would've become a new trope every generation like Pikaclones.

They should have had a dude give you an egg then. Lucario got popular because everyone got it and it's decently powerful in game. Also Lucario was perfectly designed to show off the new Physical/Special split. They should have had Zoroark do something similar in triple or rotation battles.
