Comparing this >>48357811 to this >>48362013 makes me see that without the outlines we miss a lot of features.

Rowlet's lines on its beak and leaves, Oshawott's mouth and oh, now Cyndaqui's arms don't blend with its body.

it's a perfect comparison, SM used a more natural style than before but still kept the cartoony anime feel, SWSH didn't really knew what if it wanted to be more realistic or not so you end up with a mash of awful crap like Great Mighty Poo rocks and Hyrule fields trees
