How am I supposed to "catch em all" if some pokemon were only released at a special event, in a different country, 10 years ago?

trade, I got all the mythical event pokemon just by trading people online, trading is my favorite part of the game and most people are, or at least were, reasonable in their desires.
Trading is being phased out though so soon you probably will be able to get all the special pokemon via just having the right games(aka paying extra money)
