The last trainer in the Viridian Forest had a level 9 Weedle. I remember it being a struggle when I was young. But in this game, he instead has a level 3 Metapod? Where is the challenge in that?
That isn't the only thing, either. Why did they remove battling against wild Pokemon? In older games, the most challenging part was skillfully weakening wild Pokemon so that you could catch them. In this game, I just throw the ball and occasionally give berries. What a waste.
The whole presentation is great, but there is very little substance.
