Not true. Steel would give it a ton of resistances and it would actually be the fastest Steel type in the game. It'd make for a decent dual-screener. Just give it rapid spin too and it could fill a certain niche.

Probably to differentiate it from Magneton. Had both become Electric/Steel at the same time it would have cheapened Steel's introduction.
