What went so wrong after the first few updates?
This build is still cringe but at least ShockSlayer didn't make himself the champion and other people got proper credit in the intro.

It's fundamentally bad. Pokemon wasn't made to be open-world and this hack shows why. It makes the entire progression system and gameplay loop break down.

I think it's just that the open world doesn't work with Game Boy map design and being able to Fly to areas you haven't reached
A proper open world Pokemon game wouldn't be just a boss rush

For what it's worth, there's a patch that fixes the skin colors, making Johto actually feel like Japan instead of Africa. Now if only someone would make a patch that swaps the simulated (actual) E4 with the OC shit E4.

the game is shitty whether cockslayer and his mong friends are the e4 or not, the lack of wild mon level scaling is the major downfall imo. means theres no reason to start out in lategame areas bc you'll just be trapped

in my first run I started in Blackthorn City and I was fine

I maintain this. There were 7 versions of Baby, I have 4. I don't have 1.3, 1.3a & 2.2.0. 1.3 & 1.3a have the "ShockSlayer" title without the version numbering.
