the sprites actually have the saurs with frog backs, unlike the 3D model.
Venusaur thighs aren't huge in the sprite like in the 3D model.

it's funny how the 2D models are more on-model with the official artworks than the 3D models

ivysaur doesn't have frog legs here, the model looks more accurate

Ivysaur has a frog ass, even used in anime, manga and Smash Bros.

just like how marketing Pikachu looks completely different than the games/anime

Also, that art is created from the anime staff team art for Ivysaur used in AG season.
Sugimori being a complete lazy hack just traced it instead of staying on-model which in turn, created a non-canonical version of Ivysaur for merchs
