antagonist(s) are all really good and pretty inventive, the animation is really nice and the visuals themselves are pretty cool and unique, the soundtrack is great, the tone is darker than it typically is in pokemon movies, it’s honestly the best one imo
Heroes is pretty good too, it may be about the lati twins but it’s set in Gen 2 and it’s still got that classic anime series vibe, I remember the animation being pretty good (better than the weird cgi in 4 anyway) and it’s unique in its own way setting and story wise, kinda focuses more on Ash’s relationship with this legendary pokemon as opposed to having him and the gang all there for the most part doing the same stuff and gawking at the legendary together
I have lots of nostalgia for 4 and I’m always going to love it because of that but it’s probably the worst of the original 4 movies, there’s some things to like about it for sure, but there’s off putting cgi in a few places (mostly referring to suicune, the stuff with it near the end works to create a jarring contrast in my opinion), the villain is a pretty generic evil guy with evil balls that make pokemon evil, and there’s a few weird plot things that don’t add up or make much sense. That being said I really like the very ending bit, I like seeing how time changed things between the opening scene and modern day, and there are some nice scenes, good bits of animation, etc. I’d say watch it if you’re nostalgic for old pokemon stuff, but definitely don’t expect much more than something meant to be simple and cute
