The anime.
Seeing Pokémon make the transition to full color was a godsend and ever since playing Pokémon Stadium, I always wanted a 3D game. Battle Revolution raised my hopes for the potential Pokémon COULD'VE had on HD hardware.

After what someone mentioned about Sun/Moon's inefficient game engine, I hope Game Freak considers outside help or rebuilds their game engine to a degree. It's a series that could stand some optimization. Hell, I don't even hate PLA's visuals either, I'm strictly thinking of LPE and SWSH's mixed visuals.

Standards were lower when everything was on the Gameboy Color, plus Pokemon Stadium provided a glimpse into the future. The fact that modern Pokemon animations have less character than the stuff I saw on the N64 as a little kid makes me really sad.
