Pokemon Wilds is a fan game that Sheer has been working hard on for the past 6 or so months. It uses procedural generation to create large worlds with different types of biomes, like snow, forest and mountain, and each have their own unique Pokemon. For example, Larvitar can be found in a mountain biome, Charmander in a forest biome, and Jynx in a snow biome. You can also build structures like houses and pokefarms for your Pokemon to live in. The levels of wild Pokemon increase the further you explore, meaning that some biomes with rare Pokemon will be difficult to get to.
Your Pokemon can help you explore the world by usual means (cut, fly, etc), but there are also new HMs that allow you to interact with the world in new ways, like building structures/houses (BUILD), and jumping up ledges (RIDE).
You can let your Pokemon out to roam around, and build fenced-in habitats for them. If your Pokemon is happy, it may give you items that will aid you in your journey! Items can be combined and crafted at a campfire - some ingredients may be more difficult to find than others.
