The only other notable trainer during the storyline of RSE, ORAS or XY that Shedinja bodies is Emerald's Brawly since his Makuhita doesn't have Knock Off. Aside from that rather impressively every other boss trainer has a means of dealing damage to Shedinja. Emerald Wallace has to rely on passive damage through Toxic though.

Her steelix had sunny day in Gold/Silver, so maybe it's a call back and she's doubling down by giving it a passho berry.

The one significant fight I know of that qualifies for this is the gold symbol fight with Tucker in Emerald.

To be fair you still have to get through all the other trainers and hi Salamence & Charizard will fuck up your Shedinja so you're basically playing 2v3 for most of the Battle Dome only so you can cheese the final battle.

Isn't Shedinja canonically a very rare Pokemon?

Is there any notable trainer that even uses one in the games? I imagine the lack of seeing one is more for the player's convenience than anything else.

tmk no trainer in the main storyline uses a Shedinja, likely to avoid players accidentally getting completely fucked over, although since the games it appears in also often compensate its existence by having most of their boss trainers have moves that can one-shot Shedinja it's kinda in an awkward situation.

I think it's the same reason they tend to avoid having Ditto turn up too much on Trainers teams, iirc it's never used by an in-game trainer in RBY and only one during GSC's main storyline.

consider this is a fangame that prides itself on its difficulty and yet two of its endgame bosses have one one (1) move that can kill shedinja

in fact shedinja was specifically used to bait out those pokemon and take them out using other team members or spreading status like will-o-wisp on titania and toxic on amaria.
the only thing keeping shedinja from outright cucking amaria besides swampert is that lapras with hydration + rest

the field activates all rain and water-based abilities at all times, as well as activating things like schooling and the like
her whole gimmick is abusing the whirlpool that now deals 1/6 HP per turn rather than 1/8 that also confuses, as well as an immediate and 1.5x stronger (alongside the initial water-type move boost of the field) to go from the water surface field and the underwater field to completely fuck around with you
