Mudsdale just simply has accurate weight for a large horse

After a little research googling "how much does a school bus weigh" and "how heavy is a train" I am convinced steelix should be around 30 tons if hollow and 75 with a rocky/sandy core.

More like they actually decided to give Mudsdale an accurate weight when nearly every other heavy mon is way lighter than it should be.
The only one that kinda makes sense being so light is Wailord who's known as the "float whale".

Steelix only has a coat of steel around it.
It is literally how Onix evolves into Steelix when you trade Onix while it holds Metal Coat.
Most of Steelix’s weight should be Onix’s weight but with a layer of steel around it.
