How come when people talk about buffing shitmons, Delcatty is not being talked about? Its one gimmick was being alright at Contests and those are gone outside of remakes. It has a BST of 400 with no ability to make up for it.

I never really understood what alright at contests even meant. There’s no base stats in contests, all a Pokémon has that’s unique to it would be its move pool but there are stronger Pokémon that can learn all the same moves as her

And that was after a buff, it used to have 70 speed and a BST of 370. Delcatty is actually weaker than second stage starters.

Normalize is a pretty shit ability as well, turning anything that isn't a Normal-type move into said typing? Want to use Blizzard against Sunkern? Too bad, it wouldn't be super effective. How about Sucker Punch against Unown? Same thing because Unown will survive the Normal-type Sucker Punch and use Hidden Power fighting backed by a formidable Choice Specs on top of a Modest nature for it to be a devastating VGC-shattering two-hit KO.

I used one for my playthrough of ORAS years ago.
The fact that I never realized it was a shitmon until now is proof that either the games are easy or I'm somehow dumber than a literal child.
Probably the latter.

Why were Pokemon in Alola so damn slow? And let's not even talk about the Johto shitmons. I remember being so excited to have a Delibird on my team and then for it to die in one hit in almost every battle
