Thanks so much OP :) I really appreciate you spreading the word.

ultimately the "they/them" option was added because it was easy to add and seemed to make a lot of people happy about being able to use it. The game does not have political themes, but instead, moral ones (you can be a completely immoral power-seeker and the game doesn't punish you for choosing to do so, only shows you the outcome).

That being said, if you aren't a fan of that option I respect your opinion.

That's what I meant before, as far there's no pandering I'm OK with the choice. Not gonna use it but I can understand why other people like it. It's not something that will affect my gameplay anyway. I respect the introduction of genders, specially just for being a choice and not for being present pandering during the rest of the game.

I dig the whole watercolor Sugimori aesthetic but unfortunately the designs really seem like Monster Rancher rather than Pokémon

If the intent was to harken back to the 90s in general of the era of Pokeclones like Medabots, Monster Rancher, etc, then you did a good job, but if it were supposed to look like Pokémon specifically then meh

Go with Godot. You can do just about the same thing as any other engine. Allegedly Sonic Rangers was made in Godot. You'll have to do the work to port to console but that's pretty much necessary for optimization anyway.
