>>48419701So, the dub of the remake is actually 99% faithful to the original Japanese. It keeps a couple of the iconic old dub lines like Mewtwo's famous line and "Your Charizard is poorly trained", but is otherwise faithful and ditches the changes 4Kids made.
That said, I find that hurts more than it helps, because the dub script feels like they just took the Japanese and put it through Google translate once. A lot of the dialogue is stilted and unnatural sounding. 4Kids may have changed things but I feel like they gave it actual flavor and personality.
>>48420056Ha, I should have done that... I forgot about that after deliberating whether to include the remake's brand new post credits scene (which I ended up doing).
Thanks for recognizing the work involved, the minutia of it all really added up over time, and probably the single hardest thing was dealing with the much more "active" camerawork. There are still things I think I can go back and clean up but finishing this literally killed my 11 year old Macbook.
>>48420156Thank you! I'm very happy with how the Brother my Brother scene came out, I basically had to do the audio track for that part from scratch to match the order in which the Pokemon are shown fighting here versus the original.
