Light is gay and would bring very little to the table that isn't already covered. This is coming from someone who used to want Light in the game. Fairy was a much much smarter idea for multiple reasons. There are so many myths you can work with for monster designs. You can't do that with Light.

Sad that Absol will never be Dark/Light but Fairy is greatly more interesting and nuanced than Light ever would be.

Sadly I'm separated from my laptop, otherwise I'd create a Fairy Type morality chart that categorizes them all, something like

>pure, good and angelic played straight with no secret malevolence (togekiss, gardevoir, clefairy)
>cute, sweet and nice, but has rare odd moments of surprising violence or wrath (sylveon, alolan ninetales)
>carefree indifference; moral apathy to the point of it being sometimes dangerous, but neutral rather than truly malevolent (tape lele, hatterene)
>highly mischievous, but not really malicious (klefki, whimsicott)
>acts charming and innocent, but only as a facade to hide their true nature and lure you in to cause you harm (mawile, shiinotic)
>grimdark; old world fae who are outright evil and terrifying (grimmsnarl)

Fairy has been my favorite type since it came out. A strong type but not OP, with cool themeing aside from the "pink type lol" shitmons, neat moves, and loads of potential going forward. Plus. My favorite pokemon Cutiefly is a fairy type.

Yes and none of that applies here because it's dex entry doesn't mention anything like that. It just guards it's trainer with their life but there's no mention of any of that other nonsense you mention. All I could mean is that it has a protective nature but not a devoted in the sense that it caters to your every whim as I'm sure that's what you mean to imply.
