You weren't able to transfer from GSC to RSFRLGE, so you couldn't complete the Gen 3 dex until FRLG were released in 2004. Even the most efficient method to complete the dex still requires four games: Colosseum, XD, Emerald, and Leaf Green, two of which (Emerald and XD) wouldn't be released until 2005.

You're retarded if you cant see they're going to add the new regionals, where applicable, much less Sylveon, due to it being an evolution of one of the series mascots. And if they're doing that, the new Regis absolutely have the potential to be required to unlock it. They WERE needed for the one in the Crown Tundra, after all.

But it IS explicitly a core remake, never mind it was described as a "faithful remake" - markedly different from the OC donutsteel MC's you get inserted in with LGPE. No, it's not a "trad" remake, done in the engine of the latest new Gen pairing like in the past. But that's because Game Freak wanted to expand their knowledge of building environments unrestricted by fixed camera views, so decided to sub-contract a studio to make a flat remake. Doesn't make it any less than what it's presented as (I'd even argue the inclusion of overworld spawn indicates it's EXACTLY a on-Gen remake rather than whatever it it you're calling it to deal with not getting what you expected.

You should have expected this scenario when they announced Dexit though. They were clear not every game would have every pokémon, here we are barely 2 1/2 years later, people are still shocked the new games won't be directly compatible with the already-released titles on the same system.
