>>48421584Let them, no matter how much seethe and cope they throw at me they know I'm right. I'm not so stupid as to actually defend gen 1 as games, but they were the ones that got me into the franchise back in 98' and the strategy guide and games actually helped me learn to read way above my grade level (I was 6 at the time), and I won't forget the nostalgia I feel surrounding the games but Goddamn they do not hold up today. I've tried playing them and I find myself missing everything added after. Genders, Natures, held items, bigger or infinite inventories, all the other pokemon, gameplay that actually works as intended, one type not being the best in the game with no weaknesses, there's just so much that came after that I can't live without anymore.
People who say gen 1 or gens 1 and 2 were the only good games - despite my issues with many later gens including gen 3 - are either delusional boomers who can't move with the times or retarded zoomers pretending to be boomers to get clout on a fucking anonymous image board. Gen 2 added Dark and Steel as well as shinies, genders, held items and breeding, gen 3 added Natures and Abilities as well as Double Battles and the concept of the Battle Frontier (which I don't care for but I know lots of people love), Gen 4 did a proper physical/special split which helped a ton of pokemon become more useful as well as the first game with online play, gen 5 added infinite use TMs and further refined online play, Gen 6 brought the series into 3d and felt like a soft reboot of Gen 1 in a lot of ways, and I mean that for good and for ill as well as introducing EXP share which minimizes grinding as well as super training and mega evolution, gen 7 added regional variants and Z-Moves, and gen 8 added Dynamax and the wild areas and dens which were an actually interesting new gameplay style for once. While I wish they'd stick with a single gimmick or just add the mall, I want to see what comes next.
