Because of the sharp drop in power Mawile, Lopunny, Zam, Medicham etc. provided, there will be an increase in fat balance teams. Toxapex will become undisputed king of the tier, cores that used to be have to be built for Zam or Medicham can now simply account for living out the 3 turns in usage, some will go freely unpunished because no one will risk an itemless Lopunny or Mawile being on their team, and the meta will tend even harder towards longer, rougher games.
So, basically more or less what Dynamax did - consolidate power into what last remaining threats the meta has, namely Ash-Greninja, Magearna, Kartana with bulky teams easily preparing for all of them, offensive teams biting the dust, because offensive mons will do better as individual units as compared to teamwide strategies if one happens to get too good it will get banned immediately from how it is represented, and games become even more shit than usual.
