(as you can see the University is just called T, I think Tokyo but that should be Saffron in his world)
The "PokeBall" that quickly prompted coexistence with Pokemon.
(Keep in mind this whole section deals with a lot of nuance that makes it harder to translate)
Many people think of Pokemon as mere pets or fearsome kaiju, but there's a big misconception there.
First, "there isn't such a species as Pokémon". I want everyone to remember this.
So what are they? Pokemon.
Oh, that lady just laughed. Let's explain. Pokemon are pokemon and not pokemon. In other words, Pokemon aren't a single species but a group of creatures that fall outside the evolutionary tree for unexplained reasons and are collectively called "Pokemon".
However, even if pokemon are indeed multiple species they do have points in common. The most representative one is being able to be stored in a capsule. Among them, some are very violent when active but when weakened of resting, they become less violent and can be stored in this small capsule called "PokeBall"(I also have one).
Back in 1925, Professor Nishinomori, leader of pokemon research in Japan was trying to extract rage energy from Primeape.
As was reaching his age of retirement, he made a mistake on the medicine dosage he gave to Primeape which weakened it. Then Primeape survival insticts kicked in, and it curled itself on the professor's glass case. This incident led to the development of a capsule that can store pokemon and, at the same time established a method for catching pokemon. Later, the capsule was improved and became a Poke Ball which can easily catch pokemon and, much like today, it flooded the market.
