Just because you can't make use of an optional - and really pointless - feature I never even used in the OG doesn't mean they're "culling mons" and certainly doesn't make it worse than the original games (since you're an XY zoomie who didn't play DP, you wouldn't know that this limitation was in place in the original DP and likely they've expanded the list). In fact, with following pokemon, you can have ANY pokemon follow you at ANY OTHER TIME, so why the fuck are you bothered about this one optional area?
