Africa (the entire continent) could be pretty interesting. It goes along well with the whole open world perspective the franchise gained since Sword and Shield (and going into Legends). It has huge volcanoes, it has Egypt, it has Kilimanjaro, Madagascar, the Nile, the savannahs... Could be a cool change of pace from the whole european schlock.

I believe it is gonna be Australia. It can be a soft reboot of the franchise like Gen 5 was. Even IRL Australia has unique animals that were evolved separately from the rest of the world. They're called Marsupials

You mean the ones that had Pokémon based on them as early as gen 1? I don't know why everyone seems to think every region HAS to have its Pokémon fauna 100% inspired by the real world equivalents, the real world place is mostly used just as a blueprint for the topography of the region (especially until gen 5) and this is honestly a good thing because it allows more creativity.

The entire point of Legends is training to make Gen IX in the same vein - a series of interconnected Wild Areas to replace traditional fixed-camera routes. They haven't changed who they're targeting with the kiddy brand, they still have a kiddy christmas release launching before Legends.

India or China seems likely. I can see them pull some ancient Pangaea region as the first open world region and date the farthest back in the timeline of the series, but that'd prolly be gen 10 and it'd just be a shitty land mass with references to other regions and ancestor variants of mons.
