It's hilarious to me that optional exp sharing is becoming the new following pokemon, in that people beg for it literally EVERY game and never get it. It's literally just turning a feature off but they won't let people have it, it's impressive.

gens 1-4 take place in pokemon's equivalent of the nation of japan so you'll get the National Dex. If you wanted all the pokemon, should have asked for the International Dex.

THANK GOD EXP SHARE IS A DEFAULT FEATURE. It is the best feature ever introduced in Pokemon games. I HATE grinding and I wish Upgraded Exp Share was a mechanic in EVERY Pokemon game ever.

People keep saying EXP share makes the game easier, but in my experience, not having it makes the game artificially long. Without EXP share, all you do is stay longer in one region to grind, it's not like you actually take underleveled Pokemon to a gym.

Pokémon is where it's at, because they KNOW kids will eat up whatever they push out, as long as the colourful, cartoony creatures are around. The games are a vehicle to promote the creatures, just like everything else in this franchise.
