Someone already said false equivalence but I think its a little bit deeper than that.
The "move" function was the "deposit/withdraw" options in one, you don't actually lose anything other than two bits of text to mash down to select "move".
When you remove the option of turning off EXP share, you...just lose an option. Comparing it to the box situation, it'd be more like if we lost the option to Withdraw, and only had the option to Deposit.
There's no way to turn EXP share off anymore, so your only method to keep your team from overleveling is to manually deposit them in the box every time you want to limit the spread of EXP, which would be the PC box equivalent of needing to put your Pokemon in the GTS if you want to store it and get it back later, or something else equally complicated for no reason.
I get what shills are going for with this argument, but it doesn't actually hold any water. I've never seen people bend over backwards so hard to defend the lack of something as basic as an ON/OFF switch.
