The first one i have ever played is Chaos Black, i liked the fakemons so i tried to fix the game by adding custom menu/backsprites to everything. Then i discovered Quartz (it was great back then, still like it because of nostalgia) and Shiny Gold that was amazing, it was way before HG/SS so the hype for a gen 2 remake was high.
Also i have a physical copy of Pokemon Jade (Telefang) on GBC.

My buddy as an 8 year old had Pokemon Frigo Returns. It was just Vanilla Ruby, but this guy in a Pokemon Center gave you Frigo, who looked like this. The game blocked off an early route, rendering it unbeatable. Who was Frigo? Why was he returning? Why was there cursing in the intro? 8 year old me was enchanted.

This one is probably one of the worst rom hack of all time and i don't understand why it was on bootleg cartridges, anyone could make the same hack in less than 1 hour, there is a more advanced version with a "winter" palette on the tilesets.

I used to watch a series that was comparable to Dorkly videos, but it was clearly very early rom hacking. It was a raunchy series with "offensive" humour (like Family Guy), and the main character had a Pikachu with purple cheeks named "Pukachu" or something like that. I really wish I could find it again, but every time I search for it there's nothing resembling it in the results.

Does this sound familiar to anybody, or did I have a fever dream and make this shit up?
