used snorlax because its good and sudowoodo because its the dankest pokemon ever created, crustle and kecleon are cool too i guess but never really convinced me as much

Pretty based shell smasher on showdown. Never used otherwise.

Have pretty much never touched this line. Not sure why

I should use these Pokémon in game. They all seem pretty cool

Sudowoodo - I put Sudo in S tier because its placement is quite genius. It still allows a bit of freedom in that you can explore a fair amount past Goldenrod but just stops you right before the next major city. If Johto was made in Gen 5, it would have been on Route 34 instead. It also feels natural because it's a fake tree trying to blend in with the surrounding trees, and the way you resolve it feels natural too. On top of all that, removing the Sudowoodo not only lets you continue past it, but it also opens up a neat little network in the centre of the Region, so that you can go back and do daily events/catch Pokémon you missed/whatever with ease before you get Fly. You also get to catch it which is a bonus. All in all, Sudowoodo is a roadblock done perfectly.
>A Tier
Snorlax - Same as above basically, but doesn't feel as natural or rewarding as Sudo.
>B Tier
Kecleon - Kind of annoying, but the execution was uniqure. Would have been better if its placement was properly thought out like Sudo and Snorlax instead of just arbitrarily halting your progress. Only reason it's so high despite all this is because the way you encounter it and resolve it is neat.
>C Tier
G-Slowpoke - Nothing to say about it really. It's just there to block your way. Just your average roadblock.
>D Tier
Crustle - Completely arbitrary and blocks your progress in the most inconvenient way. At least let me explore further into Route 4. Absolutely pointless in my opinion, and also felt very unnatural with their placement and the way they are resolved. It didn't really make any sense. Gen 5 had a lot of these types of lazily placed roadblocks in random places.

snorlax is really the only one that makes sense because its so massive and fat tou cant just past around it, whereas the others you could pass around them, if the world wasn't made of tiles thats it.

True, but maybe the trees are supposed to be interpreted as too close and burly all together to be passable, and Sudo's blocking the only tiny nook that can be passed through. That's how I interpret cut
