I get that they want to highlight to kids how environmental pressures bring about about long-term biological adaptations, but the way they have it now doesn't even reflect evolutionary science accurately. The offspring of something without flippers wouldn't suddenly gain them if it was somehow conceived, gestated, and birthed in a pool of water.
