What was the point of Battle Bond if it was only going to be seen once and then ignored? It's basically Mega Evolution triggered by being bros; that's fucking awesome.

If you read the mega dex entries it seems to be super painful for them to transform (for example T-tar's back erupts, or garchomp's arms literally melt). Therefore they need to have a special relationship with their trainer so they will mega evolve because if not for their friendship, they wouldnt put themselves through so much pain for a battle, if that makes sense

because Ash only had kalos pokemon and they couldnt mega evolve (Retarded decision) and they had to give Ash something so they made it up, Im pretty sure it was said somewhere that the show made it up and Gamefreak went with it or something.
