Alomomola was supposed to be an evolution of Luvdisc but Game Freak wanted gen 5 to have only new Pokémon. The "new Pokémon only" thing received backlash and this resulted in endless Charizard shilling starting with gen 6. Pitty, because all that shilling uses up all of Game Freak's "effort" that would've otherwise been put into the games.
