Gens 3 to 5 are the best gens and the gen 4 remakes are going to be based.

Gens 3-5 are my favorite.
Gens 1 & 2 are good for what they are, but are archaic in comparison.
Gens 6-8 are way too hand-holdy for my taste. Gen 7 was the worst with this. Gen 6 just lacked content (At least X & Y). Gen 8 has probably the worst new Pokemon designs.
