By whose phone is ringing do you mean the one where Sal's in the book reading group? That one was great. Haven't seen the triple tat one yet.

My fav is probably an obscure one but where Murr is working at the front desk of some small food place and the patron calls the owner to have him fired, and then Murr makes and walks out with a bindle.

Possibly but you may only be at about 6k encounters now, which isn't ideal but only 50% over odds.
Always worth tracking via encounters instead of time! Stick with it though anon those 5 seconds of euphoria you will get are worth it,

I can't believe this hunt hasn't been done on Youtube, so I can't find out if this is true or not.
Shiny static encounters in swhs have the star sparkle, berry tree Pokemon and Impidimp. Does this mean the Corvisquire on Route 3 is a start sparkle or does the game treat him as a wild encounter (diamonds)?
I prefer the stars over squares, so I'll hunt him this way if true but I can't find anyone who has done this hunt.

I found shiny Galar Stunfisk on Youtube and it's a square shiny.
I looked it up and found "wanderer pokemon" which include Impidimp, Stunfisk and Corviknight.
So I think it is the case that Impidimp, berry tree and legendaries are unique "static" encounters that star sparkle, but the game treats other "wanderer" types, Corviknight, G-Stunfisk, etc, as wild encounters (squares). The more you know.

Dragalge with its Hidden Ability in UM.

SOS Chaining.
I started this chain back on October 9th, and after not getting any Shinies to appear since October 12th, I claimed in the previous /shw/ that I would end the hunt by purposefully breaking the chain if it did not produce another Shiny by October 23rd.
Sure enough, within the first hour of October 23rd, that evil chain finally produced a Shiny... still without its Hidden Ability, though.
So that's now four Shiny Dragalges, none with their Hidden Abilities, from a 15 day hunt.
As always, Shiny hunting is suffering.

I've SOS chained (with shiny charm) the last three days.
The first day i got shiny Tentacool and Finneon within two hours. I then hunted a Zorua because of the Hisuan reveal, which i got in 2 hours.
The second day i hunted a shiny Psyduck, and got it before even reaching a chain of 30. I then started hunting Cubone, after an hour and a half and a chain of 93 a shiny Kangaskhan appeared, which i caught.
I continued my Cubone hunt today and just finished it, getting it on a chain of 171.

Probably one of the harder SOS chains I’ve tried, I didn’t really know what I was getting into between curse and embargo, in addition to having to have a scrappy pokemon so that false swipe would work. I had to use a potion probably every other turn and eat the curse otherwise they would just kill themselves using curse again. Level 34 ones had embargo so if I didn’t kill those straight away my chain would pretty much be nuked. I actually lost a few chains of 100+ and somehow got this one at only 45

Next I’m trying to get duskull from an egg but fuck, masuda method is dry as hell

This may not be the right place for it, but do any of you all know where I can get codes for the shiny shield dog when it comes out? I went to gamestop for the sword dog but the cashier kept harassing me to buy memberships and protections (I bought a game while I was there because I felt bad). I really don't want to go back. The boosted odds only apply to Brilliants and if you get 100 KOs they are 3x more likely to find that species with a brilliant Aura.
The table on serebii is somewhat inaccurate though. It's just a confusing mess all around

you can battle non-brilliants to raise your total KO's, or to spawn brilliants- but the shiny odds only apply to brilliants

In ultra moon rn, I put a treecko with my OT in the daycare with a Japanese ditto, which has the JPN language tag on it so I’m pretty sure it’s foreign and then I hve the shiny charm. I feel like I’ve burned through hundreds of eggs

That's normal.
Your chance of having seen a shiny buy 500 eggs is only about 67% with shiny charm
MM isn't that overpowered. The odds are good but the time it takes to encounter those odds are so long pre swsh that your average time investment for a shiny proabbly isn't higher than random encounters. The advantage is you wont get a shiny you don't want.

Azalea only has the three but it's also the easiest place to figure out Heracross spawns and chance of seeing one, I think I'm sitting around 35% on this tree so it's good enough odds for me

I'm pretty sure the encounter rates on the route pages are scuffed, the actual headbutt tree page has randomised rates of encounter percentage between two values, even for Gen 4

No, it's doesn't seem that great.
Decent odds after encountering hundreds of mons but only someitmes is pretty weak considering the attention it takes is pretty high. I'd rather just SR or RE hunt.
Might casually go for it if i do another playthrough of swsh one day.

the 1/64 odds with ditto is balanced out by egg hatching in gen 2 being suffering
and if your houndour and ditto had the same OT, you probably got a new egg for every three or four you hatched

The typical method of getting a shiny ditto is to trade the shiny gyarados to RBY, teach it mimic and only mimic, find a ditto, and spam mimic. iirc it'll then mimic you mimicking its transform, and transform again and this somehow makes it's IVs permanently set to the shiny gyarados's

It's a gamble of whether you're actually gonna win or not if you're playing solo or on some of the harder legendaries. But the 1% shiny chance on the pokemon you catch along the way is nice.

You should seriously do that. A few yet considerable amount of shinies differ from their gen 3 and beyond counterparts and look way better. Politoed, Murkrow, and Houndour are some good examples.

I did salandit earlier this year and got it at like 900ish from a brilliant spawn.

I recommend Motostoke Outskirts. its a lower spawn rate but much easier to see plus its also really quick to reset spawns by just going back in the bridge and back in just a few seconds
