They were "good" in the same sense that Jason is good. It just copied everything from a different game (Halloween) and essentially did little to innovate. As a result, the low IQ masses enjoy it as they can't get bored of overdone formulas

And yes, most people want to use different 'mons in each playthough.
That's like the entire point of every Pokémon game. To catch (and preferably use) them all.
Not just sticking with the same team again and again to the point of boredom.

Only after you obtain the HM Strength. Unless you're referring to Platinum. You don't need Strength in Platinum, but you can catch wild Gabite in Victory Road in Platinum, so it also also removes the need to backtrack to Wayward Cave.

A game can only be played the wrong way when the devs add in a check for things they don't intend. The only thing pokemon has like that would be punishing you for using overleveled traded pokemon. Using overleveled pokemon that you trained is fine and is rewarded immensely, so it must be what the devs intended. Use different mons each playthrough is fanfiction /vp/ created in those rate team threads.

Because it's cute and its final form (Samurott) wears a Cyprus-shaped helmet. Which is neat.
