The dynamic between the two mons, how they're totally different and unique from each other while still relating to each other with their "can only run in [x]" theme, is one of the most perfect progressions in the series and the line's complete as is. Scatterbrained hyper kid turns into straightforward focused adult, but still keeps that silly overly-defined by their actions quality that makes them fun. It's simple and it works well.
It'd be like giving Salamence a permanent evo, shitting on the whole storyline of Bagon realising its dreams of flying. Some things just don't need to be added to.
