Hello /vp/,

I'm just an anon whose feeling a little bit stuck, who'd like to take requests from you to draw a fakemon. You can suggest anything from a name, a description, a pokedex entry or even just a type, and I'll do my best to come up wtih something or mix the elements together. Any other drawfags are free to post and help out and I'll bump the thread with updates if someone is interested.

Make a bug ground type Pokemon. Name o can't think of, but it's a long, tunneling centipede that looks bulky and mean as shit. Just real fucking menace, absolutely pissed.

Anons, give me twenty minutes to come up with a sketch. I'm more of a traditional artist so I'm going to need a bit more time after that to colorize/nail sugi's art style.

I'll post rough designs for feedback and the thread can vote on how it progresses.

Okay. Just did some digging around for potential style inspirations/references. Scolipede is one of my favorite mon designs and while I don't want my fakemon to be a copy of him, I'd like to keep that simple monster aesthetic.

For the dragon side of things, I was thinking of leaning into South East Asian dragons to see if I could maybe get it to work with a more insectoid body. Like ryhdon, I want to empthasize the tunneling aspect of the mon, without making it seem too obviously unnatural - so it would have to use an insect appendage in some way that looks cool.

Gonna start sketching out some rougher drafts now.

Okay /vp/ here's the first rough concept.

I decided to go for the obvious and take a shovel inspired design for the head. My thoughts were that anatomically, the mon would burrow in the sand, and then ambush other mons suddenly. The sort of stony features also helped give it more of a 'dragon' vibe.

This is the first draft for the head. The linework is okay (I'm very new to photoshop and don't even know how to select and resize parts of the image).

Feedback and suggestions for the body would be appreciated. Anons can come in at any time with any requested features and if they seem cool, I'll add them. I'm thinking that the legs/arms could definitely be expanded but I don't want to go all nu-gen and just add shit loads of detail.

So /vp/ need it or keep it

Hmmm, in hindsight, your critcism might be fairly accurate. My hope was that the mon could propel itself up with jets of sand underneath, but the overall shape it creates is pretty wonky and my draftsmanship is all over the place.

Not happy with this current iteration, will go back to the drawing board again.

I was thinking that a pokemon with a xenomorph style of breeding would be kinda too much for pokemon, but there are kid kidnapping balloons and they are considered cute. Could be like a Psychic/Poison type pokemon who drugs pokemon into raising their young and combine the design with the birds who replace eggs to not bother with parenting and the wasps who lay eggs inside of roaches and grubs.
