What you anons miss is that Pokemon consistently introduces new mechanics to the series which actually do improve the experience. What's been controversial is the battle mechanics which they've introduced which do little to actually improve the "core experience" you appear to be defending. Arceus shakes up the formula of the overworld where one gets to catch and experience the setting itself, which is more in vein with mechanics like the day/night system.
What's wrong with a more immersive experience where the Pokemon themselves and the world they inhabit are the main focus? Isn't that kinda the point?
>>48518082I get that, and it could be that discord trying to sow chaos as usual. I just hope that it's a "loud minority" because mostly everyone agreed after Swoosh the series needed a big shakeup. Hell, people wanted that after Let's Go and even going back to X/Y.
