You can keep arguing semantics, but nothing can change this simple fact.
HeartGold & SoulSilver will, and already has, gone down in history as the best Pokémon games, remembered fondly by fans, casuals, game journalists, and everyone else in between, forever.
Gen 5 appreciation is ephemeral, and limited to niche corners on the internet, and it will fade away in the next few years just as the Sinnoh love between 2015-2018 faded away, and the cycle will continue once again as the Gen 6 kids grow up and start pushing their narrative that XY was an underrated gem or whatever.
See, the main difference between HGSS and every other game in the franchise, including BWB2W2, is that it was universally praised upon release. Whereas every other game on release had critics jumping on them right away.
It's only recently people started shitting on Johto, and it's all fans of other Gens attempting to bring down HGSS to the level of their favourite games. They want so badly for this universally beloved game to experience even an ounce of criticism and hate that their favourite games did, so they highlight fabricated flaws that don't actually matter to normal people to make the flaws of their games that were pointed out on release seem less significant. They lust for the love and praise that HGSS got on release, so they cope by trying to revise history with their meme videos and autistic essays on how good their games actually were; they were just "misunderstood" or whatever. "The Regional Dex of BW was actually a good thing, haters just hated it for no reason!", "The easiness of XY was actually a good thing, haters just hated it for no reason!".
The simple fact is: HeartGold & SoulSilver are the best Pokémon games ever, and this will never change no matter how much you try to change it.
