It could just be ILCA's take on Pokemon but they have quite literally changed the traditional artstyle already. They're using the updated Home artstyle for promotional material instead of the traditional Sugimori art, make the very strange decisions of picrel, and updated the designs from the original DP to a Home-like style.
Do you like this change?

its too early to have a finite opinion or to even know if this will stick but if it results in more varied box and pokemon art, i have no issue with it. although i dont like how the pokemon look in home

Even if I don't like the weird hyoerdetailing they gave the box legends or the Home style itself, I do like that the in battle rendering pretty closely resemble the Home style and feels more like an organic extension.
